Dakota Lee Roush, was being booked for public drunkenness in Middlesex Township when he "intentionally kicked a cell door causing the thick plexiglass to break," township police state in the release.
The Cumberland County Booking Center contacted the township police to report the "vandalism incident inside their facility" at 5 a.m. Thursday.
An additional charge of institutional vandalism was been filed against Roush, according to the release and confirmed by court documents.
A decade ago Roush pleaded guilty to driving under the influence while on a schedule one drug, court records show. He was held and paroled after 72 hours, then he served 29 days in a treatment facility, as detailed in court records. He has not had any charges filed against him in the state of Pennsylvania since that time.
He has been held on $1,000 in bail at the Cumberland County Prison and his preliminary hearing has been set before Magisterial District Judge Christopher Delozier on March 1, at 10:30 a.m., according to his recent court docket.
